CNC Operator - 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Shifts + SIGN-ON BONUS

About the role

A CNC Machinist sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. Certified Operator Training is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine daily operator preventative maintenance.
• Set up and operate conventional, special purpose, and/or numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate parts.
• Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions, tolerances, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for machining.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
• Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut, or enter commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls or control media as required.
• Verify conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
• Set up and operate machines on trial runs to verify accuracy of settings or programmed control data.
• Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
• Follow written standard work procedures, including all safety and 5S procedures.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Knowledge of database and manufacturing software to access and update information.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, percentages, and blueprint interpretation.

Pay

Competitive pay based on experience. Entry-level starting at $19/hr with increases to $20.75 at 6 months and $22.50 at 12 months, plus a $1/hour shift premium. Sign-on bonus: $1,500.

Schedule

• 2nd Shift (3 p.m. – 11 p.m.)
• 3rd Shift (11 p.m. – 7 a.m.)
• 4th Shift (11:00 PM - 11:00 AM - Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon; work 36 hours, paid for 40 hours)
• Mandatory overtime as needed.
