CNC Operator 1st Shift Lead

JOB TITLE: CNC Operator 1st Shift Lead Job Summary The CNC Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing all production operations within CNC. The CNC Lead is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and production efficiencies to meet the standards and expectations of customers. Leads are also morale builders and are responsible for creating a positive work environment for all employees. Position Qualifications/Requirements 3+ years of experience in fully operating, loading, and unloading fixtures on CNC machines3+ years of experience reading blueprints and drawings3+ years of experience running CNC Horizontal and/or Vertical machines3+ years of experience with hand tools and CNC machines required2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentAt least 1 year of experience of machine set-upAt least 1 year of experience changing tool and work offsets to dial-in partsMust be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 poundsForklift certified Preferred Skills Basic measurement and gauge use skillsBasic knowledge of manual machinesBasic math skillsProblem solving skillsStrong communication and performance management skills Dependable and punctual CORE DUTIES Develop, manage, and evaluate CNC production employeesTrain and cross-train all team members on necessary processes, procedures, and tasks within their areaEnsure scheduled shift work is carried outAttend production meetingsMonitor production and throughputEnsure that all production, quality forms, and schedule updates are completedMonitor employee attendance and shift goalsSet up CNC machines from start to finishPerform quality checks throughout the CNC processEnforce company policies, safety rules, and provide corrective action as neededProvide communication to other shift leads and production managers each shift changeCoach and assist all employees with problem solving and conflict resolutionEnforce general housekeeping and cleanliness of machines and work areasOther duties as assigned HOURS 1st shiftMonday through Thursday, 4:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.Friday OT if needed Special Requirements Candidates that accept an offer of employment will be required to pass a background and drug screen.
