CNC OPERATOR - 1ST SHIFT

About the role

LISI AEROSPACE is seeking a CNC Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC screw machines to machine metal bar stock.

Responsibilities

• Measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Removes and replaces dull cutting tools.
• Mounts, installs, aligns and secures tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines.
• Listens to machines during operation to detect issues and adjust as needed.
• Adjusts machine feed and speed, changes cutting tools, or adjusts machine controls.
• Stops machines to remove finished work pieces or change setup.
• Lifts work pieces manually or with hoists/cranes.
• Modifies cutting programs and performs statistical process control (SPC).
• Performs inspections and makes adjustments as necessary.
• Recognizes and addresses cosmetic non-conformances.
• Follows 5S department procedures.
• Attends required job-related training.
• Complies with company and government regulations.
• Improves HSE performance through suggestions and corrective actions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of SPC and departmental applications.
• Computer skills to operate CNC machinery and departmental applications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use precision measuring instruments.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy workpieces.

Pay
