CNC Operator 1 (Day Shift)

JOB SUMMARY

While upholding Hoyt’s Policies and Mission and Vision Statements, the CNC Operator Level 1 is responsible for safe and proficient operation of the CNC machines, deburring and inspection of manufacturing handles and small parts for bows. Level 1 is familiar with machining terminology and principles. Works to meet the schedule, reduce scrap and communicates ways for shop to improve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Upholds production and quality standards: This person is responsible for the safe operation of machines. Ensures efficient material flow through the production area. Performs inspection at designated AQL levels. Maintains proper care of equipment and machinery, as well as cleanliness and organization of the work area. Cleans and organizes designated area within the machine shop to conform to MSP standard. Reports scrap and non-conformances.
• Performs other duties as instructed by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Skills, Abilities and Knowledge: This position requires (can be learned on the job): Lift 50 lbs., Stand 10 Hours, Wear N95 Respirator As Required, Work in an environment that requires safety glasses, ear protection, and steel toe boots. Understand coolant % and how to maintain coolant, Good communication skills, Familiar with inspections gages, Able load/unload parts in fixture, Able to accurately document part measurements, Familiar with 6S, Familiar with terminology used in key performance indicators and metrics
• Training and Education: Education High school Required
• Work Experience: Type of experience Previous CNC machine operation experience preferred

QUALITY AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• Decision Making and Problem Solving: Ability to determine if the work meets the quality standards set by Hoyt. Must make minor decisions and solve problems related to meeting daily schedule requirements.
• Interaction with Others: This job requires the ability to interact with other employees and work as a member of a team. Responsible for maintaining a cohesive work group.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Physical environment – Works in production environment with exposure to varying noise and temperature levels. May be required to do moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, standing, reaching, walking and standing for long periods. Climbing ladders and exposure to heights is required.
• Mental pressure – Demands to meet department quality standards and daily schedule requirements.
