CNC OD Grind Operator-Nights

Responsibilities

• Reads, interprets and follows blueprints, sketches, and product/engineering specifications
• Set up and operate CNC OD and ID grind equipment with minimal supervision on a Studer grinding machine
• Makes adjustments as required to maintain print specifications
• Grinds of spline shafts and aircraft gears holding tolerances of .0001” - .0005”
• Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and participate in certified operator program
• Performs in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges
• Performs operator maintenance
• Performs the required measurements to assure product quality
• Notifies your Leader of all nonconforming product

Requirements

• Mechanical aptitude a plus
• Working knowledge of Inspection Devices and Instruments
• Ability to translate prints along with understanding of GD&T
• Blueprint reading skills
• Shop math skills
• Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of precision measuring tools are required.
• Ability to utilize visual comparator and Precision Gear Check Equipment
• Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
