About the role

The CNC Machinist plays a crucial role in transforming engineering drawings into precision-machined components using advanced CNC milling equipment. This position is ideal for individuals who take pride in craftsmanship, problem-solving, and producing first-time quality parts in a fast-paced prototype environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions to manufacture precision components.
  • Set up, edit / proof programs, and operate state-of-the-art CNC milling machines.
  • Select appropriate tooling, work holding, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
  • Inspect work using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gages, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and security requirements.
  • Keep work area organized and maintain equipment in good operating condition.
  • Collaborate with programmers, engineers, quality personnel, and supervisors to meet customer requirements and delivery schedules.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to demonstrate on-machine aptitude.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T with ability to read and interpret drawing requirements.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC mills up to 5-axis.
  • Experience and familiarity machining exotic metals such as Inconel and Titanium, etc.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable to working in a team or minimally supervised environment.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision industries.
  • Familiarity with prototype and short-run manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with first article inspections and AS9100 quality systems.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is based on demonstrated ability. Hourly wage range: $35.00 - $45.00.
