CNC Mill Programmer Operator Setter Wanted | Carraero

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Programmer and Operator to join our dynamic team, manufacturing automotive carbon fibre components such as moulds for engine Airbox components, both for road and race. This role involves machining mostly aluminium and titanium parts in batch quantities, as well as handling ever-changing contract parts and setups. You will also manage our range of 3D printers, stock tooling, order materials, and create custom tooling and fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise 3D CNC programs for our Haas VF-4SS
• Manage software and operations for our 3D printers, including creating custom fixtures
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD files to fabricate components accurately
• Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot machining issues
• Perform quality checks on finished products using appropriate measuring tools
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment and keep documents up to date
• Oversee and manage anodising and vapour blasting processes

Skills

• Proficiency in programming and operating CNC machines, specifically a 2024 Haas VF-4SS-HSE with 4th Axis drive
• M code knowledge
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Proficiency in utilising Renishaw probing
• Experience with Fusion 360 or other CAM software
• Familiarity with continuous 4th or 5th axis machining
• Experience in materials and tooling handling/ordering
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
