About the role
The CNC Maintenance Engineer supports reliable, predictable performance of manufacturing and facility equipment within a high-precision dental production environment. The role improves equipment uptime through data-driven maintenance strategies, hands-on troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration. The Maintenance Engineer applies sound engineering principles to optimize equipment performance, support continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for CNC equipment (Mikron, Willemin), sintering furnaces, dust collection systems, HVAC, chillers, and electrical systems (400/480V).
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and controls issues to restore equipment functionality.
- Support installation, commissioning, and validating activities for new or modified equipment.
- Assist in structured problem-solving and implement corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering, technicians, and production teams to support Total Productive Maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Escalate issues appropriately and communicate equipment status clearly and professionally.
- Support maintenance scheduling, work order execution, and documentation using SAP and Falcony.
- Support spare parts inventory tracking and consumable tracking systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records aligned with SOPs, GMP, and ISO requirements.
- Follow all safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies.
- May provide limited informal guidance to new team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering / Technical field or 2+ years equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies (e.g., software testing).
- Ability to troubleshoot applications and identify root causes of defects.
- Comfortable managing priorities and timelines.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Ability to track testing progress and ensure completion.
- Strong understanding of Windows OS environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing verification test cases, procedures, plans, analyzing test results, and writing reports.
- Experience setting up computer workstations and deploying software onto target systems and/or virtual machines.
- Experience in system-level verification testing in a regulated industry; experience in a medical device industry (21 CFR Part 820.30, ISO13485) preferred.
- Knowledge of Medical Device/FDA Regulated Industry and compliance with IEC-60601, 62304, ISO14971, IEC 62366, EU MDR preferred.
- Experience with requirements management (including technical content reviews), design reviews, test reviews, and change control activities.
- Experience using Requirements, Test Case and Incident Management tools (e.g., Jama, DOORS, JIRA).
- Hands-on experience with designing, building, and maintaining test fixtures and/or working with external laboratories to perform testing.

$80,100 - $97,800
