Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates Safety leadership and understanding of safety regulations
- Support of daily mechanical maintenance activities and problem solving
- Maintain plant technical data, drawings, and documentation
- Review and maintain equipment spare parts inventory and stocking strategies
- Provide recommendations and identify best practices to optimize the predictive/preventive maintenance program
- Identify, support, and execute plant improvement projects
- Perform root cause failure analysis for unplanned equipment failures and generate action items to prevent reoccurrence
- Originate, perform, and support Management of Change (MOC) requests
- Provide mechanical engineering support for capital project implementations and modifications to facilities
- Maintain and advise on mechanical conveyance, kilns/calciners, pumping systems, and other mineral processing equipment
- MSHA/OSHA rules and regulations and applicable codes and regulatory requirements
- Participation in safety program(s)
- Provide on-demand mechanical engineering support to the business units
- Make equipment recommendations to improve machine performance based on failure data, bad actor reviews, operator/maintainer feedback, and OEM guidance
- Maintain and advise on mechanical conveyance, kilns/calciners, pumping systems, and other mineral processing equipment
- Standardize and optimize spare parts inventory, stock management and coordination of the ordering of spares in conjunction with the Maintenance Planners and warehouse personnel
- Support the capital engineering group in project reviews, and Venture Manager projects as needed for installations and major equipment overhauls
- Perform failure analysis and data collection of equipment failures
- Provide engineering support for plant improvement projects
- Interface with outside vendors to improve process and equipment reliability
- Provide monthly KPI and key project updates
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) field reviews and generate recommendations
- Cover weekend duty and off-shift responsibilities as requested
Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3 + years maintenance or plant engineering experience strongly preferred
- Industrial background, equipment troubleshooting, and reliability experience preferred
