CNC Machinist - VTL Operator

About the role

The CNC Machinist - VTL Operator will work at the Erlanger, KY Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Work in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuries
• Set-up and operate CNC Vertical Turret Lathes
• Read CNC programs, familiar with G & M codes
• Make edits to CNC programs to maximize efficiency and reduce error
• Read and interpret Engineered Blue Print dwgs
• Understand and apply geometric tolerances
• Set up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e. inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)
• Machine to required tolerances of .0005” - .005”
• Determine optimal machining feeds and speeds and tool selections
• Work effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customer

Requirements

• High School Diploma / GED
• Minimum 5 years CNC Machining Experience preferred

Desired Characteristics

• Experience with VTL that uses live tooling is a plus.
• Ability to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as required.
• Experience with Fanuc Controls is a plus.
• Proven ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometry.
• Ability to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Desire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company success.
• Ability to work in a lean and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Pay

The pay for this position is at $36.00/hour. This posting is expected to close when a suitable candidate has been identified.

Schedule

The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work as optional. Available shift is 6:45AM to 3:15PM.
