CNC Machinist TEMP

About the role

As a CNC Machinist TEMP at JBT Marel, you will report to the Production Supervisor. You will cut away material from solid blocks of metal, plastic, glass, or other materials to form finished parts, applying knowledge of material properties, CNC programming, and computer-aided manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, sketches, and design data to determine dimensions, configurations of cuts, and select appropriate cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates based on part specifications and machine capabilities.
• Perform setups in a timely manner and determine reference points and direction of machine cutting paths.
• Read micrometers and calipers to ensure precision.
• Set up tooling and operate CNC machines.
• Read and interpret programs to verify G&M codes.
• Compare and analyze setup sheets with existing program sheets to ensure accuracy of machine instructions.
• Observe machine operation on trial runs to validate programmed instructions.
• Complete quality paperwork accurately.
• Maintain good housekeeping of the working area.

Requirements

• Knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer numerical control (CNC) and basics of programming and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).
• Ability to analyze part specifications and machine capabilities to determine machining processes.

Location

This is a fully onsite position at our Cleveland, OH facility.
