Key Responsibilities
- Create, optimize, and troubleshoot Mastercam programs for moderately complex to highly complex parts and assemblies.
- Develop multi-axis toolpaths, high-efficiency machining strategies, and complex workholding solutions.
- Select and validate tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies based on material, geometry, tolerances, and machine capabilities.
- Lead setup validation, prove-outs, and first-article runs to confirm production readiness.
- Ensure programs meet engineering drawings, tight tolerances, GD&T requirements, and dimensional standards.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams regarding design intent, manufacturability, inspection methods, and process capability.
- Create and maintain setup sheets, tool lists, revision records, and clear process documentation.
- Perform CNC Machine Technician - Level 2 responsibilities when required, including production ownership, inspection, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced Mastercam proficiency, including complex toolpath generation and post-processing.
- Strong CNC milling and/or turning experience, including multi-axis machining.
- In-depth knowledge of tooling, tool geometry, coatings, cutting applications, machine setups, workholding, and fixture validation.
- Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T.
- Proficiency with precision measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and indicators.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and convert them into efficient machining processes.
- Strong independent troubleshooting, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 to 7 or more years of CNC programming and/or machining experience.
- Experience with CAM simulation and verification software.
- Experience supporting lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Aerospace manufacturing or aerospace component machining experience is a plus.
