This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. About the role

As part of a hardworking team of Machinists, NC Programmers and Technicians you will setup, operate and maintain world class, state of the art CNC machines to fabricate components for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of CNC machining and fabrication. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of CNC machines and equipment to produce accurate components enabling first article success on tight tolerance, high value parts.

Requirements

  • Seven (7) years related CNC experience
  • Two (2) years’ experience with multi axis machines
  • CNC programming skills, preferably NX 10 thru 2306
  • Experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Mazak, Hass, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, Hermle, and/or Okuma
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, OSP or other CNC controls
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Familiar with use of personal computers
  • Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback
  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 lbs
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
  • Must be able to work one or more of the following shifts:
    • Shift A: Mon – Thursday 5:30am - 4:00pm
    • Shift B: Mon – Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00 am
    • Shift C: Friday – Sunday 5:00am - 5:30pm
    • Shift D: Mon – Thursday 5:00pm - 5:30am

Qualifications

  • Desired: Two (2) years’ experience with CNC programming
  • OR: 15+ Years Manual/Tool and Die
  • Desired: Tooling and fixture design
  • Desired: Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) experience
  • Desired: Outside processing knowledge including: heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.
  • Desired: CMM programming/operation experience
  • Desired: Conversational programming on the machine
  • Desired: Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts

  • Additional requirements for drivers operating Commercial Motor Vehicles (e.g., Drug and Alcohol Testing, CDL requirements, hazardous materials training)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential (required for certain job profiles, includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical)
