CNC Machinist - Overnight (3rd Shift)

About the role

We are seeking a machinist familiar with turning machines to set up and operate a variety of machines in our machine shop, including milling, turning, drilling, grinding, and more. The ideal candidate will work to close tolerances from drawings with little or no guidance.

Shift Hours: 10pm–6:15am

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or multi-axis machines)
• Load programs, install tooling, and set work offsets
• Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures
• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and supervisors to improve processes

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience (3+ years)
• Willingness to learn
• CNC programming experience (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)
• Experience with tight tolerances and high-precision parts
• Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and materials
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
