About the role
Under general supervision, the CNC Machinist/Operator/Programmer is responsible for assembling and installing piping systems, pipe supports, and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. They install pipe for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating and industrial production and processing systems. They also perform welding as it pertains to industrial burners, pipe systems ranging from ½" to 12" and other fuel oil or steel plate assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC Milling and Turning Machines
- Inspect work completed on CNC Milling and Turning Machines for conformance to specifications using bench gauging
- Strictly follow Standard Work in all aspects of work including CNC Milling/Turning Machine setup and operation, process verification, product inspection, documentation, and material handling
- Perform light preventative maintenance tasks on CNC Milling/Turning Machines to maintain machinery performance and prevent machine downtime
- Report any safety violation, machining equipment misuse and/or improperly performed work to supervisor, may provide input for action including discipline
- Work as a team player, maintaining positive, team relationships with co-workers
- Comply with all safety, hazardous material handling, and disposal requirements in accordance with regulations and company procedures
- Maintain a clean work environment in full compliance with all internal regulations
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed
- Complete testing and adjustment of parts, as needed
- Identify and replace parts, as necessary
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Education
- Skilled Trade Certification, preferred
- Minimum of two (2) or more years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Haas and/or CNC controls
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to adapt, prioritize, multi-task, and remain flexible to changes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
