Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates CNC machines to produce parts that meet engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Performs machining tasks such as loading and unloading materials, deburring components, inspecting in-process parts, and assisting with finished-part packaging.
- Verifies dimensional accuracy and maintains quality standards throughout production runs.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and uses shop inspection tools to validate part conformity.
- Utilizes measuring and setup tools accurately to ensure proper machine operation.
- Troubleshoots routine machining or production issues and supports efficient workflow.
- Maintains machine shop cleanliness, tooling inventory, and equipment condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Typically 2–5 years of machining experience with demonstrated ability to operate shop tools and equipment.
- General mechanical aptitude, dexterity, and proficiency with measuring and setup tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with lathe setup and operation (Haas, Mazak Integrex, Fanuc controls).
- Versatility across multiple machining centers.
- Strong communication skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.
- Able to read G-code and M-code, interpret blueprints, troubleshoot production issues, and conduct inspections.
Physical Requirements
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Occasional use of stairs.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds.
