CNC Machinist I

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and manual machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Load materials, install tooling, and prepare fixtures.
• Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Complete production records and ERP documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and production personnel to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support prototype and R&D projects as needed.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years of machining experience or completion of a technical/trade school program is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of CNC machining and machine shop practices is required.
• The ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand GD&T fundamentals is essential.
• Experience using precision measuring tools is necessary.
• Basic shop math skills, including geometry and trigonometry, are required.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks is a plus.
• A strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn and grow are important qualities.
