CNC Machinist I

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and work instructions to set up and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC mills with the correct fixturing, tooling and parameters to produce compliant precision machined parts.
• Verify machined part accuracy through precision measuring tools and equipment using the documented quality plan.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments to improve performance and accuracy.
• Train and mentor junior machinists, sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Maintain detailed production records and comply with quality assurance and safety protocols.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to prevent downtime.
• Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, consistently uses personal protective equipment and practices good housekeeping.

Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years CNC machining experience in set-up, operation, and optimizing CNC vertical and horizontal machine centers.
• Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles.
• Ability to edit and or write basic machining macros.
• Ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot machining problems during the approval or production process.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong attention to detail.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, remain on feet for extended time periods,
• Reach, stoop.
• Kneel and lift up to an including 35 pounds as needed.
