Job Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and work instructions to set up and operate 3 & 4-axis CNC mills with the correct fixturing, tooling and parameters to produce compliant precision machined parts.
- Verify machined part accuracy through precision measuring tools and equipment using the documented quality plan.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make real-time adjustments to improve performance and accuracy.
- Train and mentor junior machinists, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Maintain detailed production records and comply with quality assurance and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to prevent downtime.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Adheres to all safety policies and procedures, consistently uses personal protective equipment and practices good housekeeping.
Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years CNC machining experience in set-up, operation, and optimizing CNC vertical and horizontal machine centers.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining and programming principles.
- Ability to edit and or write basic machining macros.
- Ability to quickly identify and troubleshoot machining problems during the approval or production process.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints with a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Strong attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, remain on feet for extended time periods,
- Reach, stoop.
- Kneel and lift up to an including 35 pounds as needed.
