CNC Machinist (Computer Numeric Controlled Machinist)

About the Role

This position involves setting up and operating automatic or semi-automatic CNC machines to perform standard and repetitive sequences of operations where programs are provided. Machines include vertical mills, line drills, lathes, saws, flame cutters, and plasma cutters to produce high-quality parts. The role requires ensuring compliance with Tandemloc, Inc.'s policies, procedures, and tolerances while meeting production schedules. All work must be carried out safely and in compliance with Tandemloc, state, and federal safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety-toed shoes, gloves, hearing protection, and face shields. This position reports directly to the CNC Shop Foreman.

Responsibilities

• Follow work order book technical drawings/information and production schedules to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area by adhering to safety guidelines and housekeeping practices.
• Verify material, technical drawings, bills of material, tooling, and programs.
• Set up and cut/machine material to technical specifications.
• Inspect and count parts.
• Inspect, maintain, load/unload tooling, consumables, and materials.
• Manage and store steel in compliance with safety standards.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet production goals and improve workflow.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors for timely repairs.
• Regular use of cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
• Other duties as assigned, all to be performed per company policy and Production procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of formal machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent community college/vocational school education.
• Three (3) or more years related experience preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
• Two (2) or more years Flame and Plasma Cutting experience a plus.
