Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual and/or CNC milling machines and lathes
- Perform minor CNC program edits using G & M codes
- Machine parts to tolerances as close as .0002"
- Select correct speeds, feeds, tooling, and work-holding methods
- Absorb and use of jigs and fixtures
- Interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Use precision measuring and inspection tools
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material-handling equipment as needed
- Verify job documentation and maintain accurate production records
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Participate in required safety training and comply with all safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior machining experience (manual and/or CNC)
- Strong knowledge of shop math, trigonometry, and GD&T
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
About the Role
The Machinist is responsible for operating manual and CNC milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts from castings, bar stock, and other materials. Work is performed in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and written and verbal instructions to ensure quality and accuracy.
