CNC Machinist

Location: Grand Rapids, MI • Full-Time

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Swiss-style and Mill/Turn lathes to manufacture precision components.
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications.
• Monitor machine performance and identify quality or production concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow established quality procedures, production standards, and safety guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with teammates during shift handoffs to ensure smooth production.

Requirements

• 2+ years of CNC machining or CNC operator experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong understanding of quality inspections and production processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and work throughout a 12-hour production shift.

Preferred Experience

• Swiss-style CNC lathe experience (Citizen or similar)
• Multi-axis CNC machining experience
• Aerospace, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
