Position Description
- Interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to determine precise dimensions and tolerance requirements
- Operate a variety of machine shop equipment to fabricate precision components
- Optimize machining workflows by selecting the most effective and efficient methods for each specific machine
- Select appropriate cutting tools and materials based on product specifications and hardness
- Calibrate machining parameters, including speeds, feeds, and depth of cut, to maximize tool life and finish quality
- Execute rigorous dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure 100% compliance with customer requirements
- Document production data and quality metrics accurately into the company database
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by adhering to all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols to prevent accidents and asset damage
Work Environment
- Machine shop environment
- Exposure to airborne particles, metal shavings, sharp cutting tools, and moving mechanical parts
- PPE and hearing protection required at all times
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, or bend
- Lift items up to 50 pounds
- Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus required
Education & Experience
- Mandatory: High School diploma or equivalent education
- Mandatory: Minimum of 1-year hands-on experience in a professional machine shop
- Desirable: Technical certification or vocational training in Machining Technology
