Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex machining operations on CNC milling machines (vertical and horizontal)
- Read, understand, and troubleshoot G-code
- Mentor and support other machinists in resolving complex machining challenges
- Apply extensive knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Produce quality parts efficiently while meeting production schedules
- Verify conformance of finished parts using precision measuring instruments
- Collaborate with Machinists, Engineers, and Project Managers to solve problems and improve processes
- Safely operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and shop standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 4–8 years of CNC machining experience in a machine shop environment
- OR completion of Journeyman papers plus 2 years of experience
- Advanced knowledge of CNC machining techniques and milling practices
- Strong machinist math skills, including trigonometry and geometry
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and GD&T
- Proficient with precision measuring tools
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience with 3+2 axis machining
- Experience using Mastercam
- CNC programming experience or capability
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field
