About the role
My client is a leading manufacturer who is growing! They are looking to add a CNC Machinist to their first shift (7am-3:30pm).
Pay
$25 - $35 per hour
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
- Test operation of machines periodically to guarantee their smooth running.
- Maintain machinery, keep records of run times, and perform routine checks on output.
- Perform safety inspections and follow safety rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to improve processes and achieve team objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC machinist.
- Proficient in G-Code programming and Mastercam software.
- Experience with 5 Axis and Mill machines.
- Strong understanding of blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- A degree from a technical school is preferred.
- Certification or training as a CNC operator is a plus.
- Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects as necessary.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and productivity.
