About the role
Intercon is a heavy machinery manufacturer in Riverside, Missouri, fabricating, machining, painting, and assembling products for the commercial marine, defense, and mining industries. The CNC Machinist will run large horizontal mills, setting large workpieces per work instructions using 3‑point setups with parts held in a relaxed state.
Responsibilities
- Perform all machine operating duties on large horizontal mills and related equipment
- Review drawings and work from them accurately
- Perform CNC programming and editing
- Set up large workpieces according to provided work instructions and make improvements when needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements
- Experience operating large horizontal mills, including setting up large workpieces from provided work instructions
- Familiarity with 3‑point setup and setting up parts in a relaxed state (not fixture work)
- Familiar with older Fanuc controls (18M) and newer 30iB control
- Ability to read and understand drawings
- Ability to read ID/OD micrometers and calipers
- Solid understanding of the fundamentals of setting up workpieces
- Ability to work independently and stay self‑motivated
- Experience with Okuma a plus

Pay
$25 - $35 per hour, based on qualifications.
