Role Purpose
As a CNC Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting, operating and programming 5-axis CNC machinery to manufacture components accurately and efficiently. You'll work from technical drawings and designs, use CAD/CAM software to support programming and production, and ensure finished components meet the required quality and specification.
Responsibilities
- Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC machinery.
- Produce bespoke components accurately to technical drawings, designs and specifications.
- Use CAD/CAM software to support CNC programming and production.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
- Set machines, tooling and workpieces to ensure production runs efficiently.
- Make programme and machine adjustments where required to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the machining process.
- Identify and resolve basic machine, tooling and production issues.
- Work with a range of materials and components depending on production requirements.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, finish and workmanship across all work.
- Work closely with the wider workshop and production team to ensure projects are completed on time.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures and safe machine operating practices.
Requirements
- Previous CNC machining experience within a relevant manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong experience operating and programming 5-axis CNC machinery.
- Experience within industries such as stone, woodworking, joinery, furniture, shopfitting, exhibition/display, composites, plastics, solid surface or architectural manufacturing would be highly relevant.
- Experience using CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve basic production issues.
- Proactive and reliable approach to work.
- Able to work independently and as part of a wider workshop team.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.

- £15.00-£18.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x.
- Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm.
