About the role
Husky TechnologiesTM is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team in Milton, VT. Located on a large, beautiful campus just 30 minutes north of downtown Burlington, VT, we offer a vibrant work environment with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain tooling in peak condition
- Translate instructions into computer commands for machines
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines
- Supervise the machine while it executes the program and make necessary adjustments
- Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements
- Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
- Document and communicate any actions taken or needed between shifts
- Make subjective quality decisions regarding part cosmetics and aesthetics
- Provide technical leadership and training to entry and intermediate machinists
- Investigate and perform root cause analysis on non-conformance and scrap events
- Communicate findings and correct dispositioning to team leader, quality analyst, and programming support
- Support process manufacturing capability studies and improvement projects
- Conduct audits of manufacturing processes
- Regrind or alter standard tooling to meet custom feature requirements
- Program and edit parts, write macro sub-routines as necessary to facilitate operation of unattended equipment
- Develop tool specifications and procure for machining various dimensional characteristics
- Perform machine setup and first piece program/part validation for any 'one-off' prototype jobs
- Conduct audits of manufacturing processes
Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency
- Demonstrated proficiency in CNC machining
- Basic computer knowledge
- Understanding of machine controllers (PLC’s and CNC’s)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
