About the role

We are seeking a CNC Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Milton, VT. This role offers the opportunity to work for a world-class company with a team of exceptional people, competitive compensation, and attractive benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain tooling in peak condition.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings to understand specifications and desired results.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands for machine operation.
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines.
  • Supervise machines during program execution, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired results.
  • Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements.
  • Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Document and communicate actions taken or needed to maintain continuity across shifts.
  • Make subjective quality decisions regarding part cosmetics and aesthetics.
  • Provide key information for maintenance troubleshooting and technical leadership to entry and intermediate machinists.
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on non-conformance and scrap events.
  • Communicate findings and corrective actions with team leaders, quality analysts, and programming support.
  • Support process manufacturing capability studies and improvement projects.
  • Serve as the primary operations representative in manufacturing reviews.
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes.
  • Regrind or alter standard tooling to meet custom feature requirements.
  • Program and edit parts, including writing macro sub-routines for unattended equipment operation.
  • Develop tool specifications and procure tools for machining various dimensional characteristics.
  • Perform machine setup and first-piece program/part validation for prototype jobs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CNC machining preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Understanding of machine controllers (PLCs and CNCs).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Pay
