CNC Machinist

About the role

Gerhardt Gear Co., Inc. is a leading manufacturer of precision gears and components serving the aerospace and defense industries for over 60 years. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Aerospace CNC Machinist with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Burbank, California.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision aerospace components
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications
• Adjust machine settings and tooling as necessary to maintain part quality and efficiency
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work area organized and clean
• Collaborate with engineers, quality inspectors, and supervisors to resolve production issues
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records
• Programming experience (G-code, Mastercam, or similar) is a strong plus

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of CNC setup, operation, and tooling
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T and complex engineering drawings
• Experience with tight tolerances and aerospace materials (steel, titanium, aluminum)
• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems preferred
• Programming or editing experience a plus
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Schedule & Compensation

• Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Breaks: 30-minute unpaid lunch + two 15-minute paid breaks
