CNC Machinist
About the role
Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human-level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to work in our manufacturing machine shop in San Jose, CA, who will work closely with manufacturing teams to support tooling and production needs for our robot lines.
Responsibilities
- Assess tools and material needed for projects
- Provide feedback and solutions to improve designs and create efficiency
- Program, set up, and operate machines and tools
- Set up and operate a CNC Lathe with live tooling
- Set up and operate CNC 3-axis mills
- Set up and operate a manual mill and lathe
- Provide training to individuals who require use of the equipment in the shop, including Engineers, Technicians, etc.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and raw materials within the shop
- Maintain an open and safe environment where teams can collaborate
- Document and track workflow
- Perform preventative maintenance and repair on machines and equipment
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a related industry
- Proficient in CNC lathes and mills
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Ability to tackle problems in which you may not have expert knowledge
- Ability to understand engineering documentation
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Safety conscious, dependable, and a positive attitude

Pay
The US base pay range for this full-time position is between $45/hr and $80/hr. The pay offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional compensation components or benefits may be included depending on the role and will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
