CNC Machinist

About the role

Sputtering Components Inc. (SCI) seeks a CNC Machinist to join our dynamic team in Owatonna, MN. Our thin film technologies are integral to vacuum coating systems, producing components for a wide range of applications including windows, smartphones, display screens, solar panels, automobile components, and decorative hardware.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex machining assignments, producing high-quality components efficiently and safely.
• Collaborate with experienced engineers on both production and research & development projects.
• Accurately translate blueprints to manufacture parts.
• Follow all work orders and travelers provided by the company.
• Adhere to all quality standards set by the company.
• Comply with all safety rules and maintain a clean, organized, and debris-free work area.
• Accurately perform setups in CNC machines independently.
• Pursue lean manufacturing skills across all areas of the shop.
• Maintain a positive attitude and continuously seek improvements.
• Reduce manufacturing costs where possible.
• Remain proactive at all times.
• Master Cam knowledge or be willing to learn.
• Basic ability to read and program using G & M codes at the controller.
• Ability to make own fixturing and vise jaws.
• Willingness to train other team members.
