CNC Machinist

About the role

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing rotors to be used in our centrifuge instruments. This role involves setting up, troubleshooting, and analyzing the machining process. Opportunities exist to operate a variety of CNC Mills and Lathes within the Machine Shop.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and job orders to obtain product specifications, dimensions, and tolerances
• Secure work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers, or fixtures
• Set specified tools and depth of cut in accordance with material specifications and tooling guidelines; follow work instructions and set up books

Requirements

• High School/GED Equivalency and 3+ years’ machinist experience in manufacturing
• G&M code experience; familiarity of CNC machines with Fanuc Controls and CMM reports
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to develop solutions for parts out of tolerances
• Previous experience utilizing a calipers, bore gauges, pins, micrometers, and various measuring devices
• 5’s and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 35lb

Qualifications
