About the Role

This position involves setting up, operating, and maintaining 5-Axis CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and quality standards. The role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, proficiency in interpreting blueprints, and the ability to work independently to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot 5-Axis CNC Milling Machines.
• Produce precision quality parts from materials such as SS304, 316L, aluminum, and various plastics, adhering to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret prints (ISO – First Angle Projection and metric system).
• Perform setups independently.
• Review Production Status Reports and complete orders as needed.
• Record job details in the ERP system (scanning barcodes).
• Follow a pre-inspection checklist prior to each work step.
• Inspect completed work on CNC 5-Axis Machines for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges).
• Comply with all safety rules and company policies, and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
• Perform light preventative maintenance on CNC Machines to maintain performance and prevent downtime.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including assigned storage and cleaning duties, in compliance with all internal, customer, and government regulations.
• Promote a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• High School Graduate or GED; preferably from a vocational-technical high school, completion of an apprenticeship program, or a community college/technical school training program.

Skills & Competencies

• Familiarity with the metric system.
• Familiarity with G & M codes or ProtoTrak controls (a plus).
• Ability to read prints and use measuring tools.
• Experience in turning lathe (a plus).
• Proficiency in 5-Axis CNC machine setup and operation.
• Blueprint reading and interpretation.
• Use of precision measuring tools.
• Quick learner with the ability to edit programs and controls.
• Ability to work independently.
• Highly dependable with an excellent attendance record.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing shop environment with moderate noise levels. The workspace is well-lit and climate-controlled. Company-paid uniforms are provided.

Pay

Compensation is based on experience. Non-exempt employees receive overtime pay at 1.5 times the hourly rate for time worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

Schedule

First Shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Overtime is possible.

Location
