CNC Machinist - All Shifts

About the role

Leidos is seeking talented CNC Machinists for all shifts (1st shift, 2nd shift, and Weekend shifts) to join our Mechanical Manufacturing team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes. This posting is for multiple opportunities ranging in years of experience. Level of opportunity, including compensation, will be matched to a candidate's experience.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts.
• Manufacture complex aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium (experience is a plus).
• Operate in an ever-changing, rapid-paced R&D environment with little or no assistance.
• Work on different projects requiring 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience (a plus).

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with at least 2 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Must be able to work the following shifts:
  • 1st shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift.
  • 2nd shift: 4 days per week, 10 hours per shift.
  • Weekend shift: 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), 12 hours per shift (5:30 AM – 6:00 PM).
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-axis machining experience with Fanuc or Siemens 840D controls.
• Two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool.
• Experience machining in a prototype environment.

Pay

Pay Range: $48,100.00 - $86,950.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
