Responsibilities
- Set up CNC milling or CNC lathe machines and run jobs ensuring parts meet tight manufacturing requirements.
- Create CAM files from various sources and run multiple parts as needed.
- Ensure quick turnaround and accuracy within established guidelines.
- Maintain organization of jobs and material inventory.
- Perform cleaning and general maintenance on milling or lathe machines and general shop equipment.
- Inspect parts thoroughly and make appropriate decisions regarding quality requirements.
- Run jobs in a timely manner to ensure on-time delivery.
- Adhere to all quality and safety standards within the department.
- Follow processes and procedures during the shift, escalate issues as necessary.
- Identify and resolve chronic issues and problems that cannot be handled by production associates.
- Maintain a neat and organized production area.
- Work safely according to Protolabs policies.
- Manage time and prioritize work effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to improve methods and contribute to departmental goals.
- Ensure completion of operator PMs during the shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a CNC Milling or CNC lathe machine operator preferred, with setup and programming knowledge.
- Familiarity with tools of the trade, including Microsoft Office suite, SolidWorks, Mastercam, and CAD/CAM.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, confidentiality, and commitment to continuous learning and customer service.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
