About the role
Eaton’s AER MSD Mission System Division seeks a CNC Machinist - 2nd Shift. The hourly rate is $31.25 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform set-up and operate CNC machine tools, checking processed work against job specifications for a variety of life support, air-to-air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems.
- Inspect your own parts and obtain first article approval when required.
- Perform all common types of machining including turning, drilling, boring, facing, forming, reaming, tapping, threading, knurling, slotting, burnishing, chamfering, and deburring.
- Obtain information on job requirements from a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written and oral instructions, to produce quality products.
- Set up and operate associated manual machines (drill press, milling machine, saw, etc.) as required.
- Set up and operate 5 axis mills and 5 axis mill-turn machines.
- Read and understand Mazatrol and EIA CNC programming.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- All other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited institution is required.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA to be considered.
- Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
- 3+ years of experience with setup and operation of CNC Mills and Lathe Machines.
- 3+ years of experience reading, interpreting, and evaluating a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written instructions, CMM/layout reports, etc., in order to obtain job specifications.
- 3+ years of experience with 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
- 3+ years of experience with tightly toleranced, complex parts for medical or military applications.
- 3+ years of experience with GD&T and datums.
- 3+ years of experience with operating Mazak and Mazatrol controlled machines.
- 3+ years of experience with CNC programming OR processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience with 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
- 3+ years of experience with tightly toleranced, complex parts for medical or military applications.
- 3+ years of experience with GD&T and datums.
- 3+ years of experience with operating Mazak and Mazatrol controlled machines.
- 3+ years of experience with CNC programming OR processes.
Position Criteria
- Setup and operation of 3,4, and 5 axis CNC Mills, 4 and 5 axis CNC Mill-Turn machines, and Lathe Machines.
- Experience with CNC programming and processes.
- The ability to read, interpret, and evaluate a variety of readouts and presentations including blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, written instructions, CMM/layout reports, etc., in order to obtain job specifications.
- Must be able to follow both oral and written instructions when performing job duties.
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work with limited supervision.
