About the role
The CNC Machine Operator (HAAS) is an operations team member with the primary goal of satisfying customer requirements of quality and delivery by operating CNC machining centers in a safe and efficient manner. Duties include operating CNC machining centers, editing programs, setting up tooling, and configuring the machine tool. Secondary tasks involve deburring and packaging finished parts, as well as moving products using equipment like forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks. Company forklift training is provided.
This role involves working with newer HAAS machining centers featuring integrated probing and network communications. Part sizes range from small (less than 1/4lb) to large (2000lbs).
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machining centers in a safe and efficient manner
- Edit programs and adjust fixture & cutter compensation, tool offsets, RPM & feed rates
- Modify program details such as X-Y-Z locations
- Optimize CNC programs as needed
- Deburr and package finished parts
- Move products to appropriate locations using forklifts, cranes, or pallet jacks
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC machining (milling) centers working with large parts in a heavy manufacturing environment or a 2-year technical degree in machining
- Able to edit programs and adjust fixture & cutter compensation
- Intermediate knowledge of HAAS controls
