About the role
As a CNC Machinist at Superior Tire & Rubber Corp., you will setup and run CNC lathes or mills for new or proven parts, maintain work cells, ensure quality, and follow the Superior Production System (SPS).
Responsibilities
- Setup and run CNC Lathe or Mill for new or proven parts.
- Maintain setup sheet updates.
- Handle work cell scheduling.
- Manage tooling.
- Perform machine preventative maintenance.
- Report production, downtime, and efficiency.
- Measure and inspect product to required dimensions per inspection sheet; conduct inspections per interval noted.
- Upload/download programs.
- Perform Syteline posting and scrap reporting.
- Follow job dispatch list.
- Work in accordance with the Superior Production System (SPS) – receive training and adhere to system.
- Take full ownership of workspace, work safely and efficiently.
- Maintain elevated attention to detail; act on any issues observed.
- Exhibit positive mental attitude and adaptability to new situations, parts, machines, technology, people.
- Collaborate with team members, supervision, and other departments to meet production goals; communicate problems, improvements, and status.
- Train operators and share knowledge.
- Understand sound machining techniques: ensure tool rigidity, proper work holding, minimal risk of part loosening.
- Self‑aware and committed to continuous skill improvement.
- Cross‑train in other work cells within the department.
- Understand Engineering Change Request (ECR) process and work with group leader to submit them.
- Understand Mold Tooling Work Orders (MTWOs) and work with group leader to submit them.
- Ability to take ownership of any cell within the department (Level 2) and eventually any cell in the company (Level 3).
