CNC Machinist 1 - Milling - 1st Shift

About the role

This role supports the first shift, Monday-Friday, from 7:00am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machines
  • Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, and specifications
  • Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines
  • Check parts to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units to defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers
  • Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Degree or G.E.D
  • 1+ years of CNC machining experience

Qualifications

  • Precision Manufacturing Certificate preferred
  • Able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Able to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions
  • Able to setup and operate CNC turning and milling machines
  • Able to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances
  • Knowledge of G & M codes

  • Ability to travel domestically – 10% max
