About the role
Sanmina Corporation is a leading integrated manufacturing solutions provider serving the fastest-growing segments of the global Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) market. The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. As the CNC Machining Production Manager, you will lead the production activities within our high-precision and large-format machining areas.
Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the CNC machining floor to meet production schedules, quality targets, and cost objectives.
- Regularly monitor resource capacity and manpower requirements to ensure alignment with customer delivery commitments.
- Support the transition of New Product Introductions (NPI) from the engineering phase into sustained, high-efficiency production.
- Monitor machine health and oversee Scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to minimize downtime and maximize utilization.
- Drive continues improvements in efficiency, yield, and cost reduction using Six Sigma tools and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain a culture of "Safety First," with the authority to halt production to address quality or safety concerns.
- Implement and maintain 5S standards to ensure a world-class, organized, and clean manufacturing environment.
- Provide operational support for the manufacture of complex final assemblies and assist in materials evaluation and testing.
- Responsible for staffing decisions, performance evaluations, and the professional development of the production team.
- Identify and mentor high-potential team members to ensure long-term organizational stability and effective succession.
- Serve as the primary bridge between the shop floor and senior leadership, escalating technical or logistical issues effectively.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of factory experience in a technical manufacturing environment, with at least 8 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical leadership experience.
- Deep knowledge of CNC machining, complex test processes, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment difficulties.
- Strong track record in capital investment planning, budget administration, and time management.
- Ability to work in a hands-on manufacturing environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs and navigating a large-scale production floor.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills; ability to influence others and gain acceptance in high-pressure situations.
