CNC Machine Tech I- 3rd shift

Starting wage is based on experience and shift. In addition to a base wage, every associate is eligible for quarterly profit sharing. Various shifts are available, and off shifts include additional shift differential pay.

About the Role

Provide direct support to the production team in a fast-paced environment through the measurement of parts and the adjustment of precision CNC machines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current manufacturing processes and standards, troubleshoot issues as they arise, and drive to root cause.
• Identify improvement areas within the process.
• Work hand-in-hand with the manufacturing engineer to make changes and improvements to ensure safety, quality, production, and cost goals are met.
• Monitor tooling and conduct tooling tests with outside suppliers and the manufacturing engineer.
• Perform quality audits using standard inspection equipment to ensure parts meet print specifications.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of machine shop experience.
• Understanding of component machining using CNC machining centers (mill and lathes).
• Experience with component inspection using metrology equipment to control extremely tight tolerances (CMM, in-line gaging, surface plate, air gaging, etc.).
• Understanding of CNC programming for both milling and turning, G-Code and M-Code, machine tool setup and integration, tooling, macro-programming, fixture, and gage design.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (experience with GD&T preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience with Lean production systems.
• Works well in a team environment and has a servant leader mentality.
• Minimum of 18 years old.
• Able to pass both a background and drug screen.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Involves sitting, walking, and lifting up to 40 pounds several times throughout the day.
• Job is performed standing all day.
• Requires substantial movement/motion with regard to walking, bending, lifting, grasping, and applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palms.
