CNC Machine Operator Floater - Mini Shift

About the role

As a CNC Machine Operator - Floater, you will assemble sub-systems and cubic engine components using various tools, gauges, devices, Loctite, liquid nitrogen, lubricants, and specialized equipment. You will operate CNC HELLER machining centers with Siemens 840D controllers according to instructions, routings, control plans, production requirements, and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Read, study, and interpret blueprints, machining/assembly instructions, specifications manuals, job orders, routings, and control plans to determine sequences of operations, setups, and requirements.
• Compile workpieces, components, and materials per specifications; inspect, document, and report defects.
• Select appropriate materials and tooling required for machining and assembly of cubic engine components.

Requirements

• 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent Associate’s Degree.
• 5 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment.
• Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.

Qualifications

Intermediate knowledge of CNC-controls (preferred SIEMENS 840 D Controllers) machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Intermediate ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications.

Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing and production processes, raw materials, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods (Quality Alerts, Second Checks, etc.).

Intermediate knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and the ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations or standards.

Intermediate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills where problems are complex.
