Position Summary
A CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering specifications. This role ensures product quality, maintains equipment, and supports efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, routers) to manufacture parts to specification
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Set up machines, including loading materials, tools, and programs (depending on skill level)
- Maintain quality standards and document production results
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machines
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Keep work area clean and organized (5S practices)
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of machining processes and mechanical concepts
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous CNC Machining Experience
- Familiarity with G-code and CNC programming basics
- Experience with specific machines (e.g., Haas, Mazak, Fanuc controls)
- Technical certification in machining or manufacturing
