Responsibilities

• Reads process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements, dimensional specifications, setups, and operating procedures.
• Mounts work pieces between centers, in chuck, or to faceplate, manually or using a hoist.
• Installs preset tooling in tool posts, turrets, indexing heads, or automatic-tool-change magazines as specified on process sheets.
• Operates machines (Mills, Lathes, Grinders, Hobs, Broaches) by depressing buttons, toggles, or starting cycles.
• Monitors numerical displays on control panels and compares data with process sheets to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates, and speeds.
• Adjusts machine performance using dials and switches, applying practical knowledge of lathe and other machine operations.
• Inspects first-run pieces and spot-checks subsequent pieces for conformance to specifications using micrometers and precision dial gauges.
• Organizes materials for the next run to minimize changeover time.
• May set tools before positioning them in machines using precision gauges and instruments.
• May set up and operate additional machine tools during machining cycles.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent, or a 2-year degree program).
• Computer literate with the ability to learn and work with statistical and manufacturing software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional (Word, Excel) and familiarity with statistical and manufacturer software is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and dexterity skills.

Pay

$22–$25 hourly wage.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., with occasional overtime on Fridays.
