About the role

The Machine Maintenance Technician III is responsible for expert-level troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of industrial and CNC machine tools. This role ensures equipment reliability and uptime by performing advanced corrective repairs, preventive maintenance, and developing new PM procedures. The Technician III serves as a technical resource for complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, and control-system issues, working with minimal supervision and responding urgently to machine-down situations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tool equipment and controls (e.g., Fanuc, Allen Bradley, SNK, Niigata, Yama Seiki, Mazak, Okuma).
  • Perform expert-level diagnostics to the component level on hydraulics, electronics, software, electrical, pneumatic, robotic, and mechanical systems.
  • Use machine tool manuals, technical documents, and vendor resources to research and repair issues and develop preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Identify and replace parts as necessary to repair and maintain equipment.
  • Develop and complete testing procedures, identifying required adjustments for parts/equipment.
  • Complete all planned and preventive maintenance procedures as assigned.
  • Develop preventive maintenance procedures with or without tool manuals or technical documents.
  • Respond urgently to machine-down conditions.
  • Develop, implement, complete, and ensure the accuracy of documentation related to assigned tasks.
  • Perform tasks outside the scope of this job description as assigned.

Requirements

  • Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS Library, with competency in general and field-specific documents.
  • AS Engineering degree, advanced certifications in machine maintenance/repair, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret part manuals, electrical/mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Experience with SNK, Niigata, Yama Seiki, Okuma, Mazak CNC machinery, or equivalent technology.
  • Experience with FANUC, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, and Okuma controls or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic/specialty tools for troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
  • Demonstrated aptitude in industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical repair.
  • Experience with electrical test equipment and hydraulic/mechanical systems.
  • Professional-level reading, writing, and analytical math skills.
  • Self-starter capable of working unsupervised.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent in English.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Must meet export control compliance requirements; applicants must be "U.S. persons" under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).

Work Environment

Office and manufacturing floor. This position is not eligible for remote work.

Pay

Base salary range (Inglewood only): $38–$49 per hour.
