About the role
The CNC Team Lead is responsible for the daily coordination of team performance, ensuring on-time schedules with zero quality and safety incidents. This role involves overseeing the team, performing project tasks as a contributing team member (when possible without compromising management responsibilities), and possessing the expertise to train and improve the team's performance.
Responsibilities
- Team Communication and Coordination: Communicate the team’s daily department production details (production schedule, material shortages, team priorities, etc.), ensuring that all work activities are assigned and coverage is planned for absences. Communicate team status to the Production Manager, identifying production constraints and other needs. Coordinate all team project tasks through the production team to ensure that fabrication meets project schedules.
- Team Oversight and Performance Management: Oversee the fabrication team’s tasks to ensure quality of craftsmanship. Ensure that fabrication team personnel become familiar with and understand all procedural changes and instructions. Oversee the fabrication team’s safety and quality to ensure job standards are met and safety procedures are followed. Train and coach team members on project tasks as needed, assess their skills and training needs. Ensure that all team schedules are on track for completion on time.
- Technical Support and Problem Solving: Act as a resource to backfill fabrication team members. Support and/or directly perform all tool setups and changeovers to support the fabrication team and minimize downtime. Review all project status and issues with the Production Manager to determine the course of action to meet quality and schedules. Teach/coach operators to recognize and resolve common equipment failures.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve procedures, processes, and methods to ensure safety/quality with zero injuries, defects, and excursions.
Requirements
- Management Experience: Prior management experience is required.
- Technical Skills and Knowledge: Ability to check engineering drawings and CNC programs. Excellent understanding of CNC machine tools. Expert metal manufacturing experience is required.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Physical Requirements: Requires lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling merchandise up to 50 lbs. Requires constant use of arms, hands, fingers, eyes, legs, and back to operate machines and computers. Requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily.
- Certifications and Compliance: D1.1 structural certification. This position is designated a safety-sensitive position and/or is located in a safety-sensitive facility. Drug and alcohol program participation is required. Must be able to pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Experience in using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) software, Infor Visual experience is a plus.
- Firm working knowledge of Nema Standards and UL Listings.
- Electro-Mechanical experience.
- ISO 9001:2015 experience.

Pay
Compensation will be paid in the range of $28-$33/HR. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Schedule
This is a full-time position.
