About the Role

The CNC Lathe Operator III is responsible for planning, setting up, and performing a wide variety of CNC machining operations using various machine tools, jigs, and fixtures to produce a range of product parts and tooling items.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently operate CNC Lathes, including program, tool, and work setup.
• Load programs and edit offsets and code to produce parts within specification.
• Perform manual programming and edit coded programs (on machine controller or desktop computer).
• Operate manual machining centers when required.
• Use machine shop hand equipment and various measuring tools (e.g., micrometer, caliper, CMM).
• Read, understand, and machine from CAD drawings.
• Measure and inspect parts as needed or required.
• Perform and document process inspection.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of CNC lathe experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Experience with Fanuc controls; live tooling preferred.
• Computer literacy in Mastercam is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Physical Requirements

The role operates in a manufacturing environment. The following physical demands are representative of those required:

• Lift/Carry: 0-10 lbs. continuously, 11-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. never.
• Push/Pull: 0-25 lbs. continuously, 26-100 lbs. frequently.
• Bend: 34-66% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Twist/Turn: 34-66% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Kneel/Squat: 0-33% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Sit: 0-33% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Stand/Walk: 67-100% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Overhead Reaching: 0-33% during a 10/12-hour shift.
• Ladder/Stair: 0-33% during a 10/12-hour shift.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $30-$42 per hour. The wage range considers factors such as skill sets, experience, training, certifications, and business needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range.

Schedule

• Day shift: 4/10-hour days, Monday-Thursday.
• Night shift: 4/10-hour days, Monday-Thursday, with a 15% shift differential.
• Weekend shift: 3/12-hour days, Friday-Sunday, with a 15% shift differential.
