Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (lathes) used in abrasives production
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Adjust machine settings to ensure precision and product quality
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
- Inspect finished products using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Ensure products meet specifications and quality standards
- Maintain accurate production and inspection records
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processes
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- 1–3+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing experience (abrasives or similar industry a plus)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with CNC programming
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use precision measurement tools
- Basic computer skills for machine interface and reporting
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs regularly
- Work in a manufacturing environment with dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to safely operate machinery, read gauges and warning indicators, and identify hazards in a manufacturing environment, with or without corrective lenses
- Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing plant (abrasives production)
- Exposure to dust, moving machinery, and varying temperatures
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required at all times
