Essential Functions
- Edit programs on CNC machines, setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, include basic math, basic geometry, and basic trigonometry; proving part programs.
- Assists in setting-up CNC machines by installing and adjusting three – and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Requirements
- Education/Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED. Three years of CNC experience. Ability to read customer prints.
- Ability to use hand measuring tools
- Other Requirements: Must submit to and pass background and substance abuse tests. Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Must follow designated safety rules and regulations.
Physical Requirements
- Visual acuity for detailed work.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 35 pounds.
- Must be able to stand throughout the entire shift.
