CNC Lathe Machinist-First Shift

About the role

CTR Group is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for a Precision Machine Shop and Metal Fabrication Company in the Norfolk, VA area. The company has an immediate opening and is urgently hiring.

Responsibilities

• Sets and adjusts machining controls with minimal assistance
• Uses edge finders, indicators, and probes to establish machine work offsets
• Produces precision parts that meet engineering specifications
• Reads and interprets engineering and manufacturing drawings with working knowledge of GD&T
• Accurately follows set up sheets and applies best practices
• Applies optimal cutting techniques, speeds and feeds
• Detects malfunctions or tolerance issues and communicates findings
• Verifies conformance of parts using standard measuring tools
• Performs through first-part inspections of moderate to complex parts
• Consistently meets or exceeds job standard times & communicates proactively when delays occur
• Maintains accurate records or parts counts and required documentation

Pay and Schedule

The pay range for this position is $20 - $28 per hour, plus benefits. The schedule is 1st shift, 6am-2pm.
